Jennifer Lawrence Explains Why She'll Keep Her Child's Life Private

Jennifer Lawrence is pregnant with her first child and she’s explaining why she will keep her child’s life separate from her work.

The 31-year-old Oscar-winning actress and her husband Cooke Maroney confirmed the happy news of their pregnancy back in September.

While speaking with Vanity Fair for her new cover story, Jennifer stayed mum on her feelings about being pregnant. The reporter wrote, “she’s going to be a mother, though her feelings around expecting, other than saying that she’s grateful and excited, are too sacred to share with the world.”

Jennifer said, “If I was at a dinner party, and somebody was like, ‘Oh, my God, you’re expecting a baby,’ I wouldn’t be like, ‘God, I can’t talk about that. Get away from me, you psycho!’ But every instinct in my body wants to protect their privacy for the rest of their lives, as much as I can. I don’t want anyone to feel welcome into their existence. And I feel like that just starts with not including them in this part of my work.”

The reporter ended the cover story by noting that Jennifer “had been so worried before this interview. She felt awkward about not wanting to talk more about her baby. And her husband. And the sweet future they hope to build together in private… So, here’s what I say to Lawrence: She has a right to her boundaries. May they serve her and her family well. By leaving her baby out of our conversation, she has already started mothering her child.”
