Blake Shelton Jokingly Reveals Why He Didn't Invite Adam Levine to His Wedding to Gwen Stefani

Earlier this year on July 3, Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton said “I do” in an intimate ceremony with 40 friends and family members. Immediately, fans realized that one famous celeb was not in attendance: Adam Levine.

Adam, Gwen, and Blake all worked together on The Voice, and in particular, Adam and Blake were on the show together for years. The news that Adam didn’t attend was surprising to many fans (you can find out what Adam was doing on their wedding day instead right here.)

Now, Blake explained the reason why he didn’t invite Adam.

“That’s the reason we didn’t invite him to the wedding is that interview he did on your show,” Blake jokingly told Ellen DeGeneres on the December 6 episode of The Ellen DeGeneres Show. “It’s like, ‘I’m not inviting him.’”

In April 2021, Adam joked on Ellen‘s show that he didn’t support Blake and Gwen’s marriage. In addition, Adam said things like, “She’s so cool and he’s not,” and “I’ll go to the wedding and I’ll object. I probably won’t be invited now that I’m saying this on live television. But I’ll be there somehow.”

Blake was asked if Adam would have been invited if he had not said those things, to which he responded, “Well, we’ll never know.” He also added, “I purposely did not invite Adam Levine to my wedding — and I think it’s funny.”
