Scream's Jasmine Savoy Brown Admits To Not Knowing What The Film Franchise Was When She Auditioned

Jasmine Savoy Brown just made a big confession – she didn’t know what Scream was!

The 27-year-old actress, who plays Mindy Meeks-Martin in Scream 5, revealed in a new interview that she was unaware of just what Scream was when she first auditioned for the movie.

Speaking to THR, Jasmine shared that she hadn’t seen the original film when she was auditioning.

“I actually didn’t see the Scream films until after I was cast and we were shooting. So I just thought, ‘Well, I didn’t know what the heck I was doing when I auditioned and they liked it. I’m just going to trust that.’”

She added that while filming, she did watch the movie, but didn’t want to “overthink” the audition process.

“I was so chill and I think that worked to my advantage,” Jasmine said, admitting that if she had seen it, it probably wouldn’t have worked out for her.
