Bobby Bones – NOT RETURNING

Bobby Bones is not returning to American Idol this season as the in-house mentor. He has actually been filming a new show in Costa Rica and announced he would not be able to return to the ABC reality competition show as a result.

“Some of you noticed I’m not in the Idol promos this season,” he said in December 2021. “My contract with my new network won’t let me do another show right now.”

But there’s no bad blood at all: “Love Idol, BTW. Was a great 4 years.”
