Anne Hathaway & Jessica Chastain Transform Into 1960s Housewives on 'Mother's Instinct' Set - First Photos!

Anne Hathaway is back from her trip to the Cannes Film Festival and she’s already at work!

The Oscar-winning actress was spotted looking like a 1960s housewife while filming a scene for the upcoming movie Mother’s Instinct on Thursday (May 26) in Union County, N.J.

Anne was joined on set by her longtime friend and fellow Oscar winner Jessica Chastain, who also is starring in the movie.

Set in the “early ‘60s, it follows best friends and neighbors Alice (Chastain) and Celine (Hathaway), who live an idyllic traditional lifestyle with manicured lawns, successful husbands and sons of the same age. Life’s perfect harmony is suddenly shattered after a tragic accident. Guilt, suspicion and paranoia combine to unravel their sisterly bond, and a psychological battle of wills begins as the maternal instinct reveals its darker side,” according to Deadline.

It was announced a few weeks ago that Neon, the studio behind Oscar winning Parasite, has acquired the rights to the psychological thriller. The movie was first announced in October 2020 and we’re so excited to see it’s finally being made!
