Former Nickelodeon Star Daniella Monet Claims Report That The Network 'Sexualized' Its Teen Actors Is True

While discussing the work conditions that she and other young actors faced on the sets that were run by Dan, Daniella said that her time on the show was, for the most part, “very PC, funny, silly, friendly, chill.”

But there were moments every “once in a while” that made her feel uncomfortable: “Do I wish certain things, like, didn’t have to be so sexualized? Yeah. A hundred percent.”

One particular moment Daniella recalled was a scene in which she had to eat a pickle while applying lip gloss. After filming, she said she reached out to Nickelodeon executives and expressed concerns that the scene might be too sexual to air on the teen show.

However, the network aired it anyhow.

Insider’s report also alleged that Daniella and her co-stars were typically told by Dan to wear the “skimpier options” when it came to wardrobe, encouraging them to wear “whatever was the most revealing.”

“[They were definitely] not age-appropriate,” she says. “I wouldn’t even wear some of that today as an adult.”

Daniella is the latest in a line of stars to expose the working conditions teen stars were under with Dan.
