'House of the Dragon' S1 Finale Leaks Online, HBO Responds & Reveals How It Happened

The season one finale of House of the Dragon doesn’t air on HBO and HBO Max until Sunday night (October 23), but the episode has already leaked online.

HBO has released a statement in response to the leak and the network has seemingly discovered the source of the leak.

“It appears to have originated from a distribution partner in the EMEA region. HBO is aggressively monitoring and pulling these copies from the internet,” the spokesperson told THR.

For those who don’t know, EMEA stands for Europe, the Middle East, and Africa.

The statement continued, “We’re disappointed that this unlawful action has disrupted the viewing experience for loyal fans of the show, who will get to see a pristine version of the episode when it premieres Sunday on HBO and HBO Max, where it will stream exclusively in 4K.”

The absence of one significant character in season one has been explained.
