Zooey Deschanel Shares Why Her Children Aren't Fans of Her Christmas Classic 'Elf'

The holidays are right around the corner, which means that families across the globe are likely getting ready to watch Elf again. However, Zooey Deschanel can’t say the same for her family.

The 42-year-old actress starred in the Christmas classic as Will Ferrell‘s love interest. However, she revealed that her children – Charlie Wolf, 5, and Elsie Otter, 7 – still aren’t old enough to enjoy her movie just yet.

“I think they’re a little young for it,” she said in a recent interview with Access. “They still usually only watch animated movies. It was a little scary for them. I know it sounds weird because it’s not a scary movie.”

She added that the “suspense of Santa’s sleigh going down” was too much.
