Hilary Duff Recalls 'Horrifying' Battle With Eating Disorder As a Teen Star

Hilary Duff is opening up about her battle with an eating disorder when she was a teen.

The now 35-year-old How I Met Your Father actress shared her story with Women’s Health Australia in their new issue, recalling how she was constantly comparing herself to others, especially being a teen star.

“Because of my career path, I can’t help but be like, ‘I am on camera and actresses are skinny,’” Hilary said. “It was horrifying.”

Over time though, she added that she has learned to love her body.

“[I'm] appreciating my health, doing activities that make me feel strong instead of just bettering the outside of my body,” she says. “Spending time with people that make me feel good and share similar views on health and body positivity and getting enough sleep and balance in my diet.”

Hilary is not the first celebrity to open up about their struggles with an eating disorder. Just recently, Heather Morris got candid about her own battle.
