Patty Jenkins Decided to Quit 'Wonder Woman 3' & A New Report Explains What Led to Her Decision

Patty Jenkins will not be directing Wonder Woman 3 and it’s still unclear if the project will still happen, but we now know details about what led to her decision to walk off the movie.

It was reported on Wednesday (December 7) that all plans for a third movie are on hold and that new DC Universe bosses James Gunn and Peter Safran were the ones to put a stop on the franchise.

A new report from TheWrap, which was released on Thursday (December 8), claims that Patty was the one who decided to leave the project.

Insiders say that Patty walked off the project after Warner Bros. execs gave notes on her treatment that she didn’t agree with. The outlet says that Warner Bros. Film Group Co-Chairpersons and CEOs Michael De Luca and Pamela Abdy “spoke to Jenkins first and communicated that they didn’t get the treatment, didn’t think it was the right direction for the franchise and asked Jenkins if she would consider pitching something else for the IP in another direction.”

The source says that Patty said no and told them “that they were wrong, that they didn’t understand her, didn’t understand the character, didn’t understand character arcs and didn’t understand what Jenkins was trying to do.”

Patty reportedly didn’t want to hear James and Peter‘s opinion.

“She just doesn’t want to allow them to have a seat at the table to have an opinion on something new that she might come up with,” the source said.
