Brendan Fraser is setting the record straight on the correct way to pronounce his name.

While in conversation with Adam Sandler, the 54-year-old The Whale actor revealed that many friends, and fans, have been getting the pronunciation of his last name wrong for many years.

In the video shared by Variety, Adam recalls a moment when he first met Brendan.

“When I first met Brendan Fraser… That’s your full name, right? Brendan Fraser?” Adam says, pronouncing his last name like many will do. However, it’s incorrect.

Brendan then does correct him, and gives him a tip on how to say it – it rhymes with razor.

“You shave with a razor, you should try standing closer to it,” he joked.

Later on in the video chat, Adam does pronounce it wrong again.

“Ok. F*** it. No one’s ever gotten my name right,” Brendan replied to it.

Just last month, Adele revealed that fans have been mispronouncing her name as well.
