Emily Blunt Says Her Comments About Tom Cruise's Set Advice Were Taken Out Of Context; Explains They Laugh About It Now

Emily Blunt is clearing up her now viral comments about what Tom Cruise said to her on Edge of Tomorrow.

Earlier today, the -year-old actress’ opened up on the Smartless podcast about what Tom had said to her as she was running into some issued while filming a scene that required her to put on an 85-pound suit.

“The first time I put it on I started to cry, and [Tom] didn’t know what to do,” Emily recalled. “I was like, ‘Tom, I’m not sure how I’m going to get through this shoot,’ and just started to cry.”

“He just stared at me for a long time, not knowing what to do, and he goes, ‘Come on, stop being such a p-ssy, OK?’”

While speaking with People, Emily claimed that her comments were taken out of context, and added that she and Tom laugh about what happened.

“And I did laugh, and then we got through it,” she shared.

Emily added that her friendship with Tom is good and “I absolutely adore Tom, he’s a dear friend and he was a total gem to me. It was said as a joke to make me laugh, which it did in a big way.”

“It’s ludicrous that it’s being spun as something that offended me. It didn’t,” she says. “I shared the story as lightheartedly as it was meant by Tom. And it’s still something we laugh about to this day.”

Just recently, Emily defended her choice to be a working mom of two.
