Meghan and Harry, on their growing popularity

Friend Lucy Fraser shared, “Australia was a real turning point because they were so popular with the public. The internals at the palace were incredibly threatened by [the Duke and Duchess's popularity].”

Harry added, “The issue is, when someone who is marrying in who should be a “supporting act” is then stealing the limelight, or is doing the job better than the person who is born to do this, then that upsets people. It shifts the balance,” he said while headlines about Meghan and Harry being more popular were shown on screen alongside images of Kate Middleton on the King.

He added, “It shifts the balance, because you’ve been lead to believe the only way that your charities can succeed, the only way that your reputation can be grown or improved, is if you’re in the front page of those papers. But the media are the ones who choose who to put on the from page.”

He then said, “the first time that the penny dropped” was after an event with every member of the royal family.

The press coverage the next day featured a huge image of Meghan and Meghan alone on the cover.

“On the front page of The Telegraph, Meghan,” Harry shared, while Meghan interjected, “I went ‘oh my god. but it’s not my fault!’” Prince Harry shared, ‘I know, and my mum felt the same way.’”
