TNT Axes 'Snowpiercer'; Final Season Will Not Air on Network

Snowpiercer seems to be officially over, even before the final season that was announced last year, airs on TNT.

According to Deadline, the series which stars Jennifer Connelly and Daveed Diggs, the decision has been made to skip the final outing on basic cable.

“We can confirm that TNT will not air season four of Snowpiercer,” a spokesperson for the network shared in a statement. “This was a difficult decision, but our admiration for the talented writers, actors and crew who brought Snowpiercer‘s extraordinary post-apocalyptic world to life remains strong.”

It continues, “We have been working collaboratively with the producers since last year to help the series find a new home where fans can continue to enjoy the compelling story and exceptional visual experience. We look forward to working with them on future projects.”

The site does report that the producing studio, Tomorrow Studios, is looking to air the final season somewhere else, and also pitching a potential prequel and sequel to it.

The Snowpiercer television series was an offshoot of the 2013 film of the same name.
