In the previously released rules, Netflix relayed that it would now require all devices with the same account to be using the same Wi-Fi network, and for all of those devices to log into Netflix every 31 days.
In addition, Netflix also posted that subscribers would also have a verification code to enter if trying to access the account from outside the household.
Now though, the company said in a statement that the rules that were posted only applied to “account holders in Chile, Costa Rica, and Peru” and were then posted to other countries FAQs by mistake.
“For a brief time yesterday, a help center article containing information that is only applicable to Chile, Costa Rica, and Peru, went live in other countries,” a spokesperson said to The Streamable. “We have since updated it.”
The rules on password changing is still expected to put in place by the end of March.
