J-Hope Becomes Second BTS Member to Sign Up for Military Service in Korea

J-Hope is preparing to enlist.

The 29-year-old BTS member is the second member of the group to enlist for mandatory military service in South Korea, following Jin, who began his service in December for 18 months.

“We would like to inform our fans that j-hope has initiated the military enlistment process by applying for the termination of his enlistment postponement,” the band’s label Big Hit said in a statement, asking for fans to provide “continued love and support for j-hope until he completes his military service and safely returns.”

At the same time, he will be releasing a new solo single called “on the street” on March 3.

All seven members of BTS will serve their mandatory military duties under South Korean law, which requires every man to perform mandatory military service.
