Richard Gere's Wife Gives Update About His Health Amid Medical Scare in Mexico

Richard Gere is recovering.

The 73-year-old actor caught pneumonia, requiring him to be hospitalized while he was on vacation in Mexico for his wife Alejandra Silva‘s 40th birthday.

Over the weekend, his wife shared an update about his health.

In a post to Instagram, which included a photo of Richard smiling at her birthday cake, and one of the two embracing, she wrote: “What an amazing birthday! Thank you all my friends and family for make it so special!💫♥️ #happybirthday ! Ps: as you can see we are all mostly recovered.” (She was battling sinusitis and an ear infection at the same time.)

On February 19, she wrote that “the worst has already” passed, and told fans a few days later that “Richard is feeling much better,” and that their two young sons – Alexander, 4, and James, 2 – who also got sick were doing fine as well.

We’re so glad to hear everyone in the family is doing better.
