The Weeknd to Make Movie Acting Debut Alongside Jenna Ortega & Barry Keoghan!

Abel “The Weeknd” Tesfaye is making his feature acting debut!

The 33-year-old music superstar is working on an untitled film that also stars Jenna Ortega and Barry Keoghan.

Plot details are being kept under wraps. The project is currently in production.

Trey Edward Shults, who directed It Comes at Night and Waves, is set to direct the movie.

He will direct from a script he co-wrote with The Weeknd and his producing partner Reza Fahim.

The Weeknd “has been developing the project for some time and in recent months came to Shults about directing it,” Deadline reports.

Despite high-profile offers lately, Jenna and Barry reportedly both “made it clear they wanted this as their next project and following their commitments, the film was a go.”

The Weeknd is also set to star in HBO’s The Idol, which he also co-created with Euphoria creator Sam Levinson.
