Christina Ricci Addresses 'Not Great' 'Rolling Stone' Cover, Being the 'Anti-It Girl' as a Young Star

Christina Ricci looked back on some of her earliest days in the limelight during a new interview.

The 43-year-old Wednesday actress opened up about being depicted as the epitome of the “anti-It girl” during an interview with Rolling Stone.

In it, she addressed a 1999 photoshoot for the magazine, which she dubbed “not great.” She also hinted at how things have changed for her since then.

For the 1999 cover of Rolling Stone, Christina (then 19) wore pink lingerie. The accompanying tagline described her as “Nice & Naughty Christina Ricci.”

Looking back, she described it as not one of her greatest moments.

“It’s not how I would have chosen to be dressed, but it’s very much of its time,” Christina said, adding, “I was a bit of a d-ckhead.”

“I could have handled it in a way that was less teenage,” she continued.

While the actress explained that she’d moved past that time in her life, she did reveal how she sometimes got in similar situations during interviews.

“In movies, there’s a buildup, and the movie comes out, and then it’s done,” she said. “For TV, [the press cycle] never ends. I find myself starting to feel a little bit more devil-may-care about the things I say. And that’s not good for me. I always go too far. I never realize how awful a thing I’m saying is until someone else is like, ‘What the f-ck?’”
