Julianne Hough Reflects on Her 'Harry Potter' Cameo, Reveals Crush on Daniel Radcliffe & Talks Meeting Emma Watson Again Years Later

Julianne Hough recently revisited her time as an extra in Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone.

The 34-year-old actress and dance pro made a cameo in the first movie in the Harry Potter franchise back in 2001 and opened up about it in a recent interview.

In the process, she fessed up to crushing on franchise star Daniel Radcliffe and opened up about meeting Emma Watson again years later.

During an appearance on The Kelly Clarkson Show, Julianne told Kelly Clarkson that she had “just read all of the books” when she got the opportunity to audition for the movie.

“I remember I clearly was American because I was like, ‘Can I audition for Hermoin,’” she recalled, noting that she mispronounced Hermione’s name.

She also opened up about crushing on Daniel and a gift that she gave him: “We were in Gloucestershire shooting a scene, and it was Valentine’s Day. I actually got him a Beanie Baby. It was Valentino, wrote him a love note.”

Did Daniel respond? Julianne said she didn’t know if he ever even got the gift.

Then the conversation turned to a more recent meeting with Emma.

“I actually saw Emma Watson the other day, and I walked up to her and was like, ‘Hey. We’ve met a few times, but I don’t know if you know this. I was in Harry Potter,’” she said. “She’s like, ‘I remember you.’ I was like, ‘You absolutely don’t remember me.’ I was an extra.”

“She was being kind,” Julianne continued.

Julianne also showed up to support the New York City Ballet at the organization’s Spring Gala at the David H. Kock Theater, Lincoln Center on Thursday night (May 4) in New York City. We’ve got pics of her glam look in the gallery!
