Sandra Bullock‘s longtime partner Bryan Randall has sadly passed away after a three-year battle with ALS and fans have been wondering if the couple ever got married.

The Oscar-winning actress and the late photographer were a very private couple and it’s not clear if they ever tied the knot, but Sandra once explained why she didn’t need to get married again.

Sandra was previously married to Jesse James from 2005 to 2010 and she started dating Bryan in 2015 after meeting him at her son’s birthday party, where he was hired to be the photographer.

So, why wasn’t she looking to get married again?

“I am someone who went through the divorce process,” Sandra said during an appearance on Red Table Talk. “I found the love of my life. We share two beautiful children—three children, his older daughter. It’s the best thing ever. I don’t wanna say, ‘Do it like I do it,’ but I don’t need a paper to be a devoted partner and devoted mother. I don’t need to be told to be ever-present in the hardest of times. I don’t need to be told to weather a storm with a good man.”

Back in 2018, Sandra told InStyle about the kind of dad he was for her kids.

“He’s super kind. For the kids he’s sort of No. 1. and I’m No. 2,” she said. “But I get it because he’s more fun and has better treats.”

In 2021, she called him the love of her life.
