Avril Lavigne Shares Her Thoughts on Love Following Mod Sun Split & Tyga Romance Rumors

Avril Lavigne opened up about love amid continued interest in her love life.

The 38-year-old “Complicated” hitmaker called off an engagement with fellow musician Mod Sun back in February. She was linked to Tyga shortly thereafter, though reports suggested that they called off their relationship in June.

It is currently unclear where she and Tyga stand romantically.

During a recent interview, she was asked why love had to be “so complicated.” Her response revealed her thoughts on the topic.

Speaking to Grazia Bulgaria, Avril described herself as “a romantic,” according to a translation of her interview.

“I love everything that comes with love,” she continued. “It can be beautiful, it can be messy. It can be passionate, anger can intervene, there can be ups, there can be downs. But to some extent it defines us as people.”

She also addressed tabloid headlines and interest in her relationships, explaining that she has learned to “find humor in the situation.”

Avril even teased more music on the horizon. “The studio is my favorite place when I’m not on tour. There’s definitely new music on the horizon. I’m excited to share it with the world,” she shared.

It’s possible that she’ll touch on her love life in the new releases. After all, Mod Sun seemingly opened up about their split in a new song he teased.
