Stephen King Played 'Mambo No. 5' So Much That His Wife Almost Got a Divorce

Stephen King is into “Mambo No. 5″ – to the point that it nearly ended his marriage.

The 75-year-old The Shining author opened up in a new interview with Rolling Stone.

During the discussion, he revealed a very surprising fact about the 1999 Lou Bega hit song.

When asked if rumors about his love for the classic song were true, he responded: “big time,” before going into detail.

“My wife threatened to divorce me. I played that a lot,” he said, adding, “I had the dance mix. I loved those extended play things and I played both sides of it. And one of them was just total instrumental.”

“And I played that thing until my wife just said, ‘One more time, and I’m going to f—— leave you,’” he revealed.

Fortunately, he and Tabitha King, who he married in 1971, remain married. They couple share three adult children: Naomi, Joe, and Owen.
