Patrick Dempsey 'Heartbroken' After Mass Shooting in Maine Hometown

Patrick Dempsey is speaking out in the aftermath of a mass shooting in his hometown of Lewiston, Maine.

On Wednesday night (October 25), a gunman opened fire at a bowling alley and a restaurant, leaving at least 18 people dead and 13 injured.

Patrick, 57, shared his thoughts about the tragedy on his Instagram on Thursday (October 26).

“I am shocked, and deeply saddened by last night’s tragedy in my hometown, Lewiston, Maine. Maine’s great strength is its sense of community, and now we are being asked to come together to support everyone that has been devastated by this senseless act. My family and I are heartbroken for the victims, their families, and the community,” the former Grey’s Anatomy actor wrote.

The suspect of the shooting, Robert Card, remains at large.
