Dolly Parton Reveals Her Plastic Surgery Policy, Talks Meeting Royals (& Having to Decline an Invitation to Tea With One)

On meeting Queen Elizabeth and missing tea with Kate Middleton…

“Oh, I was real happy to meet her,” Dolly recalled about meeting the late Queen Elizabeth back in 1977. “But I was so afraid I was going to make a mistake curtseying or saying the wrong thing. But she was so sweet and down-home – just very warm and very generous.”

She unfortunately was not able to meet Princess Catherine (aka Kate Middleton) when she was invited to tea more recently.

“I only had one full day and I did not have a second to do anything else besides work,” Dolly said. “But make sure people know I didn’t turn the invitation down. I was honoured and flattered that she even asked me.”

Dolly mused that she and the Princess of Wales would have discussed their dedication to children and hopes for a future opportunity to get together.

“I think she’s adorable and I hope someday to be able to sit down and have a good conversation with her,” she added.
