FX & FXX Renew 1 Series for Multiple Seasons, Cancel Another in 2024 (So Far), Plus Another Show Confirmed to End This Year

The Bear – RENEWED FOR TWO SEASONS ON FX ON HULU!

Nearly five months after the conclusion of season two, FX finally renewed The Bear for a third season. The news was announced on November 6, 2023.

“The Bear, which wowed audiences in its first season only to achieve even greater heights in Season 2, has become a cultural phenomenon,” said FX president Nick Grad in a statement. “We’re so proud to partner with Christopher Storer, Joanna Calo, Josh Senior, and the rest of the creative team, as well as the brilliant cast led by Jeremy Allen White, Ayo Edebiri and Ebon Moss-Bachrach. What they and the crew have done is truly remarkable, and we and our partners at Hulu join fans in looking forward to the next chapter in the story of The Bear.”

It was then revealed on March 14, 2014 that The Bear was secretly renewed for two seasons at once and the fourth season will film directly after the third.

The show will not return for season 4.

Dave Burd said in a statement, “Making Dave has been and continues to be a dream come true. But there are other creative ventures that I am dying to pursue as well. For the past 5 years, I’ve poured every fiber of my being into the show, and after three amazing seasons, this feels like a good time to press pause to give myself the bandwidth to do some of the other things I have always wanted to do. I am beyond excited about what I have planned for the future and am enormously appreciative of FX for their continued partnership.”

What We Do in the Shadows – ENDING ON FX

ENDING ANNOUNCEMENT DATE: December 2023

The fourth season of What We Do in the Shadows aired in summer 2022. Before the new season premiered, the show received a renewal for seasons 5 and 6.

Season five premiered on July 13, 2023 and it was announced on December 19, 2023 that the upcoming sixth season will be the last one.
