Who is Russell Wilson’s Ex-Wife? Meet Ashton Meem

Russell Wilson will be playing football for over a hundred million people during the 2015 Super Bowl this Sunday, so let’s fill you in on him!

The 26-year-old football player is the quarterback for the Seattle Seahawks and was selected by the team in the 2012 NFL Draft.

Russell married his high-school sweetheart Ashton Meem on January 14, 2012 and it was announced a little more than two years later on April 23, 2014 that they had filed for divorce.

The couple had started dating in 2006 after growing up in Richmond, Virginia together, where they went to separate high schools. Russell received a scholarship to play at North Carolina State and Ashton decided to go to University of Georgia, but soon transferred to NC to be with her man. When he transferred to University of Wisconsin, she also made the move to the new school.

When the couple announced their divorce last year, there were rumors that Ashton was having an affair with Russell‘s teammate Golden Tate, but both players denied the allegations.

While Ashton used to work in insurance, she now is an event planner.
