Jake Gyllenhaal & Mary J. Blige Are Picture Perfect at 'Southpaw' Cannes Screening

Jake Gyllenhaal suits up while attending a screening of his upcoming film Southpaw during the 2015 Cannes Film Festival on Friday (May 22) in Cannes, France.

The 34-year-old actor was joined at the screening by Mary J. Blige and Charli XCX.

“This sport is so well-filmed on television that it’s very hard to get the same feeling in the cinema on screen like Martin Scorsese did with Raging Bull. But this film is so strong and credible. We believe Jake is a boxer first. When I was watching the fight, Pacquiao vs. Mayweather, I remembered the movie. Jake is very extraordinary. Film after film he is having quite a career and this film is to me maybe one of his best,” festival delegate general Thierry Fremaux shared at the screening.

Earlier in the day, Jake and Sienna Miller were spotted hitting the Aioli lunch, which was hosted by Cannes mayor David Lisnard.
