Blu-Ray and Digital HD Releases

Deadpool 2

Deadpool 2, aka the ‘Merc with a Mouth’, comes out on Blu-Ray today.

To help summarize, let me quote what was officially sent to us as the synopsis.

“After surviving a near fatal bovine attack, a disfigured cafeteria chef (Wade Wilson) struggles to fulfill his dream of becoming Mayberry’s hottest bartender while also learning to cope with his lost sense of taste.”

For those that understand the Deadpool character, the synopsis is very apropos to the comedy action film released today. The film follows the action hero, played by Ryan Reynolds, as he tries to save a young mutant from turning to evil all while being stopped by a solider from the future.

One of the most refreshing aspects of Deadpool is his ability to break the 4th wall, which tends to lend to some of the most hilarious parts of the film. Overall, for the uninitiated, Deadpool is extremely action-packed with a very appropriate R rating, so be aware that this isn’t your typical Marvel movie.

The film is presented in DTS Master Audio 7.1 and in 1080p video. Extra features include hilarious featurettes, deleted scenes, and a gag reel. There’s even an extended scene for the after-credits scene from the film that wasn’t shown in theaters.

With a 83% Rotten Tomatoes rating, this film is a great pickup for those that are fans of the original, and those looking for a different kind of Marvel hero altogether.
