Get to Know Iyana Halley, Meredith in 'Beast,' with These 10 Fun Facts! (Exclusive)

The new movie Beast is now in theaters and we caught up with actress Iyana Halley to learn more about her!

Beast stars Idris Elba as a widowed dad of two teenage girls who takes his daughters on a sightseeing trip to the South African game reserve. However, their journey quickly becomes bloody as the family and their wildlife biologist friend (Sharlto Copley) come face-to-face with the massive apex predator hellbent on killing every human it encounters.

Iyana plays Meredith, one of the two daughters. You might also recognize her from roles on This Is Us and Abbott Elementary, as well as in the movie Licorice Pizza. Check out 10 Fun Facts below:

1. I am originally from Brooklyn, NY.
2. I’ve been sewing since I was 10 years old.
3. I have a clothing line which I created because I was so skinny that nothing would fit me so I took matters into my own hands and started making my own clothes.
4. I’m not the best dancer but I absolutely love dancing!
5. I have a skincare line called Haus of Halley where I make body butters, sugar scrubs and more

6. I’m terrified of bugs, insects and most animals so I am nothing like my character Mere.
7. My favorite food is Roti and Curry which is a Guyanese dish. That is where my family is from.
8. I am absolutely not a morning person unless it is for work! Otherwise, I will sleep until at least 11am.
9. I can’t swim but I take swimming classes just about every summer to learn how to swim, yet I still cannot swim.
10. When filming This Is Us, they gave me a Tesla to drive and I crashed it… it was a small hit but I was so embarrassed. Now I bought a Tesla so I wouldn’t have that problem moving forward.
