Jimmy Fallon parodies swimmer Ryan Lochte on stage at the 2016 MTV Video Music Awards held at Madison Square Garden on Sunday (August 28) in New York City.

Specifically, Jimmy poked fun at Ryan‘s legal troubles after lying about being robbed at gunpoint during the 2016 Rio Olympics.

Jimmy ended up presenting Beyonce with Video of the Year! Congrats, Bey!

Drake presents the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award to his rumored girlfriend Rihanna at the 2016 MTV Video Music Awards held at Madison Square Garden on Sunday (August 28) in New York City.

The 29-year-old rapper gave a super sweet speech about how he first met Rihanna many years ago and he also professed his love for her!

“She’s someone I’ve been in love with since I was 22 years old,” Drake said, which prompted huge cheers from the audience.

Drake was supposed to be at the show earlier in the night, but he reportedly got stuck in traffic and missed the presentation of his award for Best Male Video for “Hotline Bling.”

Halsey gets close to Andrew Taggart of The Chainsmokers during their performance at the 2016 MTV Video Music Awards held at Madison Square Garden on Sunday (August 28) in New York City.

The duo sang their hit song “Closer” and got very close during the performance – almost kissing!

Rihanna hits the stage for her third performance of the night at the 2016 MTV Video Music Awards held at Madison Square Garden on Sunday (August 28) in New York City.

The 28-year-old singer performed her recent single “Needed Me” and her hit song “Bitch Better Have My Money” for her third segment during the show.

Rihanna is this year’s recipient of the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award and she is performing four times throughout the show. Make sure to see her open the show with “We Found Love” among others and give a dance hall performance to “Work” and more.

Simone Biles, Laurie Hernandez, Aly Raisman, and Madison Kocian get excited as they take the mic on stage at the 2016 MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday (August 28) at Madison Square Garden in New York City.

The Final Five gymnasts presented Beyonce with the win for Best Female Video and even got to hug her before she started her speech!

Sadly, the girls were without their teammate Gabby Douglas, who is recovering from an allergic reaction.

Simone Biles posted a super cute Snapchat with Troye Sivan and his boyfriend Jacob Bixenman while at the 2016 MTV Video Music Awards held at Madison Square Garden on Sunday (August 28) in New York City.

“hi troye bb,” Simone, 19, captioned the photo on her social media account.

“guys no lie I think today might be one of the FUNNEST days of my life,” Troye updated on his Twitter account that same day.

Troye and singer Alessia Cara performed “Wild” during the pre-show that same day.

It was a night of great performances and a celebration of music at the 2016 MTV Video Music Awards held at Madison Square Garden on Sunday (August 28) in New York City.

The big highlights of the evening were definitely Rihanna‘s many performances to celebrate her Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award as well as Beyonce‘s live performance of Lemonade.

Beyonce won the award for Video of the Year and Best Pop Video for her song “Formation,” Best Female Video for “Hold Up,” and she also picked up the award for Breakthrough Long Form Video for Lemonade.
