Maggie Gyllenhaal just made a very rare appearance with her 15-year-old daughter Ramona!

The 44-year-old actress was joined by husband Peter Sarsgaard and their daughter while attending the 2021 Gotham Awards on Monday night (November 29) at Cipriani Wall Street in New York City.

It was a big night for Maggie, who was nominated for the Bingham Ray Breakthrough Director Award and Best Screenplay for her movie The Lost Daughter. The film is also up for Best Feature.

Maggie has already won the Best Screenplay award and the rest of the awards haven’t been announced at the time of this posting.

Also joining Maggie at the event was The Lost Daughter actress Dakota Johnson.

Dakota Johnson is ready for awards season!

The 32-year-old actress hit the red carpet for the 2021 Gotham Awards on Monday night (November 29) at Cipriani Wall Street in New York City.

Dakota is at the event to support her movie The Lost Daughter, which is up for a bunch of awards. She was joined by writer and director Maggie Gyllenhaal and co-star Peter Sarsgaard. For those who don’t know, they’re a married couple in real life!

The Lost Daughter is nominated for Best Feature, Bingham Ray Breakthrough Director Award and Best Screenplay for Maggie, Outstanding Lead Performance for Olivia Colman, and Outstanding Supporting Performance for Jessie Buckley.

Dakota‘s dad Don Johnson recently explained why he was removed from the premiere of the movie recently.

Tessa Thompson and Ruth Negga hug it out inside the 2021 Gotham Awards on Monday night (November 29) in New York City.

The two stars of Passing were joined by director Rebecca Hall for the award ceremony, where the movie was up for five awards.

Tessa and Ruth are both nominated for Outstanding Lead and Supporting Performances, respectively, and Rebecca is also up for the Breakthrough Director Award.

Passing, set in 1920s New York City, a black woman finds her world upended when her life becomes intertwined with a former childhood friend who’s passing as white, is also nominated for Best Picture at the event.

Kristen Stewart stuns in a bright pink dress at the 2021 Gotham Awards held at Cipriani Wall Street on Monday (November 29) in New York City.

The 31-year-old actress reunited with her Still Alice co-star Julianne Moore on the red carpet, who will be presenting her with the Performer Tribute honor.

“We are tremendously proud to honor Kristen Stewart, whose superb performance as Princess Diana in Spencer marks yet another artistic peak in a remarkable career which spans some of the most successful studio films and iconic independent films of the past two decades,” Jeffrey Sharp, executive director of the Gotham Film & Media Institute, said in a statement about Kristen‘s accolade.

He added, “By consistently taking on bold and challenging roles across genres, Kristen has established herself as one of the most respected and beloved artists in the independent film community that we represent here at The Gotham.”

Kristen and Julianne are also pictured with Dakota Johnson, Tessa Thompson and Spencer director Pablo Larrain at the event.

The stars of Squid Game are in the Big Apple!

Lee Jung-jae and HoYeon Jung walked the red carpet together at the 2021 Gotham Awards on Monday night (November 29) at Cipriani Wall Street in new York City.

Jung-jae plays Seong Gi-hun (aka #456) while HoYeon plays Kang Sae-byeok (aka #067). They were joined at the event by series creator and director Hwang Dong-hyuk.

The show is nominated for Breakthrough Series – Long Format and Jung-jae is up for Outstanding Performance in a New Series.

On the red carpet, the director talked about Squid Game‘s success and how it will change the landscape for international television.

The full list of nominations for the 2021 Gotham Awards has been announced!

The Gotham Awards is the first major awards ceremony of the fall season and things will be a bit different this year as the performance categories are now gender neutral.

Those categories have been restructured into Outstanding Leading and Supporting Performance categories for feature films, joining the already existing Breakthrough Performer category, and the addition of an Outstanding Performance category for series.

Nominees are selected by committees of film and television critics, journalists, festival programmers, and film curators. Separate juries of writers, directors, actors, producers, editors, and others directly involved in making films will determine the final Gotham Award recipients.

The 2021 Gotham Awards ceremony will take place live and in person on November 29 at Cipriani Wall Street in New York City.

The 2021 Gotham Awards took place on Monday night (January 11) and there was an in-person ceremony that had some celebrity attendees.

While most of the stars appeared at the awards show virtually, a handful of stars walked the red carpet and presented on stage at Cipriani Wall Street in New York City.

The stars in attendance included Euphoria‘s Hunter Schafer, Hamilton‘s Renee Elise Goldsberry, Palm Springs‘ Cristin Milioti, Oscar nominee Michael Shannon, The Undoing‘s Noma Dumezweni, Moonlight‘s Andre Holland, and Top Chef‘s Padma Lakshmi.
