Sophia Bush steps out to attend the book signing for her pal Adam Braun‘s new book “The Promise of a Pencil” on Sunday afternoon (March 23) at Barnes & Noble at The Grove in Los Angeles.

“Thank you to everyone who came out to see @itsadambraun and I speak today about his #POPbook, The Promise of a Pencil!” the 31-year-old actress tweeted. “It was such an inspiring afternoon, full of so much energy and passion. You’re all amazing. And I truly believe each of you will change the world for the better! Your passion matters. Find the fire you need in Adam‘s book, and send us your POP book selfies! �’�”

In case you didn’t know, Adam is the brother of music mogul Scooter Braun.

Sophia Bush and Serinda Swan step out for a good cause as they attend the 2013 Pencils of Promise Gala held at Guastavino’s on Thursday (October 24) in New York City.

The ladies were joined at the annual event by founder Adam Braun, his brother, music manager Scooter Braun, and Ty Pennington.

Usher, Jessica Szohr, and Jessica Stam attend the 2012 Pencils of Promise Gala held at Guastavino’s on Thursday (October 25) in New York City.

The event was also attended by the organization’s founder Adam Braun, his brother Scooter Braun, and up-and-coming artist Tori Kelly.

Pencils of Promise, which honored Usher at the event, helps create schools, programs, and global communities around the common goal of education for all.
