Tom Welling Reacts to 'Smallville' Co-Star Allison Mack's NXIVM Sex Cult Case

Tom Welling is breaking his silence on Smallville co-star Allison Mack and her involvement in the NXIVM sex cult.

During his interview on fellow Smallville co-star Michael Rosenbaum‘s Inside Of You podcast, the two briefly discussed the sex cult, where Allison allegedly recruited women into NXIVM where leader Keith Raniere reportedly blackmailed women into becoming sex slaves and branded his initials into them.

Earlier this week, Keith was found guilty on seven charges, including forced labor conspiracy and sex trafficking conspiracy.

“I didn’t know anything about it,” Tom said. “So, there you go. I was very surprised to read anything about it. It sounds very bizarre. Allison was always a nice person around me.”

Tom added: “It’s also funny that people would think we know, or that we would have some like, really like perspective on it.”

“I always say this, if somebody said, ‘Hey your brother killed someone?’ ‘No, it’s impossible. You don’t know my brother,’” Michael responded. “Now, Allison and I were never really tight on the show like you and I were. I didn’t really know where she went off and did her own thing. But like if somebody said, ‘Oh, Allison Mack killed [somebody],’ I would go, ‘No, that’s impossible.’”

Michael then added that he feels torn between “always [having] love for Allison” and the details that are coming out about the case. “I don’t know what to say or what to…other than if it’s true, it’s a tragedy.”

Back in April, Allison pleaded guilty to racketeering conspiracy and racketeering charges. She will be sentenced in September.

Allison Mack Allegedly Starved Dynasty's Catherine Oxenberg's Daughter India for Sex Cult

Disturbing new details have emerged about Allison Mack‘s involvement in Nxivm’s secret sex cult.

The 36-year-old former Smallville actress and alleged slave master kept India Oxenberg – the daughter of Dynasty actress Catherine Oxenberg – on a 500-calorie-a-day diet, ex-member “Nicole” testified over the weekend during the sex-trafficking trial of accused leader Keith Raniere, the New York Post reports.

Nicole said that Allison was “so manipulative, she’d threaten to starve … India even further to ensure that Nicole remained obedient.”

”When India and I became close, they would use her to make me behave,” Nicole explained. “Allison was trying to have [India] get down to a certain weight, and they decided that goal weight was 107 pounds.”

“It was just really hard to watch, sometimes,” Nicole added. “It was tough on her.”

Nicole went on to describe degrading events they had to endure for Allison, such as “weekly naked group pictures” for Keith, which Allison called “family photos.”

Allison Mack pleaded guilty in the case back in April.

Smallville's Michael Rosenbaum Breaks Silence Over Allison Mack Sex Cult Allegations

Michael Rosenbaum, who co-starred with Allison Mack on Smallville, is breaking his silence on the allegations that she was the number two in a sex cult.

Michael, who is now 46 years old, played Lex Luthor on the show alongside Allison and spoke about her on the podcast This Past Weekend last month.

“I’ve chosen not to talk about it only because it’s shocking and all I can say is this: When I was on that show, Allison was the sweetest, most professional — she was just a great girl, great actress The whole story’s yet to come out but I think a lot of the story’s out there now and I think it’s just shocking, it’s surprising. She was great,” Michael said.

About their personal relationship, Michael said, “I really didn’t hang out with Allison but maybe a couple times throughout seven years. So we didn’t know each other, we weren’t close friends, but like there was always a mutual respect and love there.”

He continued, “I didn’t expect this, this was a curve ball…But again, I didn’t really know her…She was smart, this is why it’s so shocking to me. Yes, she was younger, she could have easily been mind-f—– and given like who knows, they could have said, ‘Oh’ — and promised her this thing and she was empowered by things and somehow she fell down this.”

“Ultimately, inadvertently, she got into something that was bigger than her,” he concluded.

Allison Mack is headed back to court for a bail hearing.

The 35-year-old Smallville actress was seen while arriving at the United States Eastern District Court on Friday (May 4) in Brooklyn, New York.

Allison was arrested last month, facing charges of sex trafficking, sex trafficking conspiracy and conspiracy to commit forced labor in relation to the alleged sex slave cult Nxivm.

She was joined at the hearing by the cult’s leader Keith Raniere.

According to Us Weekly, Allison was “very stoic” during the hearing and “was staring blankly, blinking a lot, had her hands in her mouth and then looked down a lot.”

“She definitely seemed to know the seriousness of what is happening,” the onlooker added.

Keith pleaded not guilty and a court date was set for October 1st.
