Sarah Paulson Says That 'ACS: Impeachment' Is 'Definitely Beginning'

Sarah Paulson is updating fans about the status of the upcoming American Crime Story anthology series, Impeachment.

While promoting her new Netflix series, Ratched, the 45-year-old actress talked a bit about turning into Linda Tripp, who was Monica Lewinsky’s confidant, for the new season.

“I’ve gotten the call and it looks like I’m going back to work next month,” she shared, adding that she’s “already had another prosthetic fitting and another two other costume fittings” for her role.

She continued on, saying that “All the sets are built, the White House, Linda’s house, Monica’s apartment. We are definitely beginning it.”

“I don’t know how long it’s going to take to shoot because with all the protocols, it seems like maximum shooting is 10 hours a day,” she explained. “And you know, the scenes are long and intense.”

Sarah adds that her role comes with “an accent to do and a voice — and it’s a whole thing…I mean, God help me. I don’t know what I’m thinking. I have really have to tell you. I was just like, what was, I think, because the scripts were just too good that the character was too interesting to me.”

ACS: Impeachementalso stars Beanie Feldstein, Clive Owen and Analeigh Ashford.

Earlier this week, Sarah opened up about how to properly announce Ratched. See how here…

Billy Eichner to Play Matt Drudge in 'American Crime Story: Impeachment'

Billy Eichner is joining the cast of American Crime Story: Impeachment in the role of Drudge Report founder Matt Drudge, Deadline reports.

The Drudge Report first broke news of the White House affair between Bill Clinton and Monica Lewinsky on January 17, 1998.

Beanie Feldstein is playing Lewinsky, Clive Owen is playing Clinton, Sarah Paulson is playing Linda Tripp, and Annaleigh Ashford is playing Paula Jones.

“Can finally share this with the world. Truly an honor to join @MsSarahPaulson, @BeanieFeldstein, Clive Owen and more in American Crime Story: Impeachment,” Billy tweeted to his followers.

Beanie Feldstein to Play Monica Lewinsky in Ryan Murphy's Next 'American Crime Story' Season

Ryan Murphy‘s next edition of American Crime Story will be titled Impeachment and it will focus on the Clinton scandal.

Beanie Feldstein will star in the series as Monica Lewinsky and the real Lewinsky is producing the series with Ryan and his team.

Ryan had previous plans to do a series about the White House drama, but he scrapped the plans. He said last year, “I told her, ‘Nobody should tell your story but you, and it’s kind of gross if they do. If you want to produce it with me, I would love that; but you should be the producer and you should make all the goddamn money.’”

Sarah Paulson has joined the cast as White House employee Linda Tripp and Annaleigh Ashford will play former Arkansas state employee Paula Jones, who sued Clinton for sexual harassment.

“FX’s American Crime Story franchise has become a cultural touchstone, providing greater context for stories that deserve greater understanding like the O.J. Simpson trial and saga, and Andrew Cunanan’s tragic crime spree which concluded with the assassination of Gianni Versace,” FX CEO John Landgraf said in a statement. “This franchise re-examines some of the most complicated, polarizing stories in recent history in a way that is relevant, nuanced and entertaining. Impeachment: American Crime Story will likewise explore the overlooked dimensions of the women who found themselves caught up in the scandal and political war that cast a long shadow over the Clinton presidency.”

Impeachment will premiere on FX on Sunday, September 27, 2020 at 10pm. Start your countdown clocks!

Versace Family Slams 'American Crime Story' in Second Statement

The Versace family has issued a second statement in response to the upcoming season of The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story.

The family first issued a statement earlier in the week, breaking their silence on the portrayal of Gianni Versace‘s murder. FX responded with their own statement.

“As we have said, the Versace family has neither authorized nor had any involvement whatsoever in the forthcoming TV series about the death of Mr. Gianni Versace, which should only be considered as a work of fiction. The company producing the series claims it is relying on a book by Maureen Orth, but the Orth book itself is full of gossip and speculation. Orth never received any information from the Versace family and she has no basis to make claims about the intimate personal life of Gianni Versace or other family members. Instead, in her effort to create a sensational story, she presents second-hand hearsay that is full of contradictions,” the statement, provided to Just Jared, began. “As just one example, Orth makes assertions about Gianni Versace‘s medical condition based on a person who claims he reviewed a post-mortem test result, but she admits it would have been illegal for the person to have reviewed the report in the first place (if it existed at all). In making her lurid claims, she ignores contrary information provided by members of Mr. Versace‘s family, who lived and worked closely with him and were in the best position to know the facts of his life.”

Gianni Versace was a brave and honest man, who engaged in humanitarian work for the benefit of others. Of all the possible portrayals of his life and legacy, it is sad and reprehensible that the producers have chosen to present the distorted and bogus version created by Maureen Orth. The Versace family will issue no further comment on the matter,” the statement concluded.

Versace – starring Edgar Ramirez, Penelope Cruz, Darren Criss, and Ricky Martin – premieres on FX on January 17.

FX Responds to Versace Family's Thoughts on 'American Crime Story' Series

FX has released a statement in response to the Versace family’s criticism of the network’s upcoming Ryan Murphy series, The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story.

The family behind the fashion house said that the show was made without its blessing and fans should consider it to be a “work of fiction.”

FX stands behind the series and the source material the producers used to create it.

“Like the original American Crime Story series The People vs. OJ Simpson, which was based on Jeffrey Toobin‘s nonfiction bestseller ‘The Run of His Life,’” the network said in its statement (via THR), “FX’s follow-up The Assassination Of Gianni Versace is based on Maureen Orth‘s heavily researched and authenticated nonfiction best-seller ‘Vulgar Favors,’ which examined the true life crime spree of Andrew Cunanan. We stand by the meticulous reporting of Ms. Orth.”

Versace – starring Edgar Ramirez, Penelope Cruz, Darren Criss, and Ricky Martin – premieres on FX on January 17.

Versace Releases Official Stance on American Crime Story's Gianni Versace Season

The fashion brand Versace has released an official statement regarding their stance on the upcoming show, The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story, airing on FX this month.

“The Versace family has neither authorized nor had any involvement whatsoever in the forthcoming TV series about the death of Mr. Gianni Versace. Since Versace did not authorize the book on which it is partly based nor has it taken part in the writing of the screenplay, this TV series should only be considered as a work of fiction,” the statement, provided to Just Jared, read.

The show is premiering on January 17, and stars Darren Criss, Penelope Cruz, Edgar Ramirez, Ricky Martin, and more.
