Emmys 2015 Ratings Were the Lowest Ever in the History of the Show

Andy Samberg poses for a photo by the bar at his private after party following the 2015 Emmy Awards on Sunday night (September 20) at Sunset Tower Hotel in Los Angeles.

The 37-year-old actor hosted the show for the first time, but unfortunately it didn’t drum up a huge audience this year.

The initial ratings are in for the broadcast and it brought in an 8.7 overnight household rating and a 14 share, which means 8.7% of all television-equipped households in the country were tuned in and 14% of all households watching television at that time were tuned in.

Last year’s Emmys brought in a 10.9 rating and 18 share when the show aired in late August on a Monday night. This is a 20% drop from that show, according to Variety.

FYI: The event was hosted by Tequila Don Julio.

Andy Samberg Gave Out Free HBO Access at Emmys 2015!

Andy Samberg actually gave everyone free HBO access while hosting the show at the 2015 Emmy Awards held at the Microsoft Theater on Sunday (September 20) in Los Angeles.

The 37-year-old actor, who recently starred in the HBO movie 7 Days in Hell, gave out a username and password for HBO Now that actually worked!

“Luckily for you, the CEO of HBO recently said he doesn’t think password sharing for their streaming services is a problem,” Andy said. “So here’s my HBO Now login!”

The username is [email protected] and the password is password1. While some people have reported the account as working, it appears access may have already been shut off!

Andy Samberg Shows 'Emmys Can Kill' - Watch Now!

Host Andy Samberg has been keeping the crowd laughing at the 2015 Emmy Awards held at the Microsoft Theater on Sunday (September 20) in Los Angeles.

Between awards, Andy expressed how he wished everyone could win an Emmy so that no one would go home empty handed.

In a musical parody video inspired by the Mad Men series finale, Andy did just that! Instead of the iconic “I’d Like To Buy The World A Coke” ad, Andy sang that he’d like to give the world an Emmy.

Unfortunately things go a little awry when he tries to give one to Parks and Recreation‘s Jim O’Heir and he quickly realizes just how dangerous Emmys can be!
