She took part in a handprint ceremony, kissed Mickey Mouse, and gave a speech on stage after Disney chairman and CEO Bob Iger introduced her.

“As I was [at dinner at Disneyland's Steakhouse 55 last night], sitting alone, I had time to talk to my waiter, whose name was Steve,” she told the crowd. “I was getting Steve‘s story, and I was saying, ‘Tell me, how long have you worked here?’ And Steve said, ’42 years’… and I said, ‘How did you stay at this company for 42 years?’ And he said, ‘I found it to be the best place to let me be me.’ And I feel the same way about my work with Disney since 1984, launching The Oprah Winfrey Show.”

“Every day, Disney ABC-7 let me be me,” she added. “It was an honor, and I feel that more than anything, being a legend, more than being a celebrity or being awarded for notoriety, that really a legend is about the common experience that we all hold and share, and every day, on that show, I was able to tell our common story.”

Oprah made sure to snap some pics with Mark Hamill, who was also honored, as well as directors Ava DuVernay and Julie Taymor.

Carrie Fisher & Stan Lee Honored in Disney Legends Ceremony

Carrie Fisher and Stan Lee officially became Disney Legends at the D23 Legends Awards!

The late Star Wars actress and the 94-year-old comic book writer were honored during the ceremony on Friday (July 14) in Anaheim, Calif.

Carrie‘s Star Wars co-star Mark Hamill was also honored.

Disney chairman and CEO Bob Iger introduced both Stan and Mark on stage.

The event marked Stan‘s first public appearance since the death of his wife Joan earlier this month.

“I would love to give my deepest respects for the super cool space sis I have in Carrie Frances Fisher,” Mark told the crowd. “I loved her. We were like siblings. The good and the bad! We’d have huge fights and not speak to one another. But we loved each other, and what a great thrill it was to come back in The Force Awakens at that time in our lives. There was a comfort level with each other. We could rely on each other. And there was a deep respect. I know if she was here this morning, she would have flipped me the bird at least twice already, so thank you all so much. I’m so humbled and so grateful, and I love you all.”

“I loved Walt Disney,” Stan said during his speech (via THR). “He was more than a man, he was an inspiration. To think that today I’m standing here in the home that Disney built, that paid tribute to Jack [Kirby, his late collaborator] and all things Disney – it is so thrilling. And I can’t leave without saying, ‘Excelsior!’”

'Pirates of the Caribbean 5' Held For Ransom By Hackers, Disney Refuses to Pay (Report)

Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales has reportedly been stolen by hackers ahead of the May 26 release date.

Deadline has apparently confirmed that the film was stolen, but Bob Iger, Disney’s CEO, will not be paying any ransom to the hackers. The hackers want a sum of money paid to Bitcoin, Bob told ABC employees during a town hall meeting, Deadline reports.

Disney is reportedly working with the FBI to remedy the situation.

The film stars Johnny Depp as Captain Jack Sparrow, with Keira Knightley, Orlando Bloom, Javier Bardem, Kaya Scodelario, Brenton Thwaites and more.

Disney & Lucasfilm Release Statements Following Carrie Fisher's Death

Disney and Lucasfilm have released statements following the passing of Star Wars actress Carrie Fisher.

Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy and Disney CEO Bob Iger both spoke of Carrie‘s immense talent and how special she made the Star Wars saga.

Carrie Fisher was one-of-a-kind, a true character who shared her talent and her truth with us all with her trademark wit and irreverence. Millions fell in love with her as the indomitable Princess Leia; she will always have a special place in the hearts of Star Wars fans as well as all of us who were lucky enough to know her personally,” Bob wrote.

He added, “She will be sorely missed, and we join millions of fans and friends around the world who mourn her loss today.”

On behalf of Lucasfilm, Kathleen said, “Carrie holds such special place in the hearts of everyone at Lucasfilm it is difficult to think of a world without her. She was Princess Leia to the world but a very special friend to all of us. She had an indomitable spirit, incredible wit, and a loving heart,”

Carrie also defined the female hero of our age over a generation ago. Her groundbreaking role as Princess Leia served as an inspiration of power and confidence for young girls everywhere. We will miss her dearly,” she concluded.

George Lucas gives photographers the thumbs up while hitting the red carpet with J.J. Abrams at the Star Wars: The Force Awakens premiere held at the Dolby Theatre on Monday (December 14) in Hollywood.

The two Star Wars directors were joined at the event by Steven Spielberg and his wife Kate Capshaw, Colin Trevorrow, Rob Lowe and his wife Sheryl Berkoff with their two boys John Owen and Matthew Edward, Kathleen Kennedy and producer Frank Marshall, J.J.‘s wife Katie McGrath, and chief executive officer of The Walt Disney Company, Bob Iger.

J.J. recently opened up on if the pressure of the film is getting to him.

“Sure, but here we are. It’s like I’m standing at the doorway of the airplane door and we’re about to open the door,” J.J. told the LA Times. “Do I hope the parachute opens? Yes. But every time I feel remotely paralyzed by the noise or anticipation or expectation of it, I just look at the work I’ve seen done and I’m just grateful.”

FYI: J.J. is wearing Aldo shoes.
