Ann Curry Voices Support for Brooke Nevils Amid Matt Lauer Rape Allegation

Ann Curry is showing support for Brooke Nevils after she came forward in Ronan Farrow‘s upcoming book Catch and Kill with rape allegations against Matt Lauer.

The 62-year-old journalist and former co-worker to the 61-year-old news anchor tweeted her support of the NBC reporter on Wednesday (October 9).

Brooke Nevils is a credible young woman of good character. She came to NBC News an eager and guileless 20-something, brimming with talent. I believe she is telling the truth. And that breaks my heart,” she wrote.

Brooke Nevils, a former NBC News employee, provided in-depth details of her alleged encounter with Matt Lauer at the Sochi Olympics in 2014. She says that she was anally raped by the former Today host in his hotel room.

“Today, nearly two years after I was fired by NBC, old stories are being recycled, titillating details are being added, and a dangerous and defamatory new allegation is being made….I have never assaulted anyone or forced anyone to have sex. Period,” Matt said in response to the allegations.
