Michelle Obama takes the stage while attending the 2015 Black Girls Rock! event held at the NJ Performing Arts Center on Saturday (March 28) in Newark, N.J.

The 51-year-old First Lady was joined by Ava DuVernay, Carmen Ejogo, Danielle Brooks, Cicely Tyson, Fantasia Barrino, and Regina King.

“No matter who you are, no matter where you come from, you are beautiful,” Mrs. Obama told the crowd. “I am so proud of you. My husband, your president, is so proud of you. We have so much hope and dreams for you.”

Carmen Ejogo dons a white sequined gown at the 2015 Academy Awards held at the Dolby Theatre on Sunday (February 22) in Hollywood.

The Selma actress was joined on the red carpet by the film’s director Ava DuVernay.

Selma was nominated for two awards at the ceremony – Best Picture and Best Original Song. Stay tuned to see if the movie wins at the star-studded event, which is hosted by Neil Patrick Harris.

“Appreciate everyone! But don’t wish me luck. Wish me love! This journey has been beyond anything I dreamed. In a state of joy + gratitude! x,” Ava tweeted earlier in the day.

Rosamund Pike is smashing in a red and white dress while attending the 2015 Women In Film Pre-Oscar Cocktail Party held at HYDE Sunset: Kitchen + Cocktails on Friday (February 20) in West Hollywood, Calif.

The 36-year-old English actress was joined by Meryl Streep, Kate Walsh, Jennifer Hudson, Lake Bell, Laura Dern, Carmen Ejogo, and Michelle Monaghan at the event, which honored women, who are in front and behind the camera.

Rosamund chatted about how she will prep for the 2015 Oscars at the cocktail party.

“I’m keeping it real because I’ve got my children. My son just threw all of his cars in the swimming pool and I found myself promising to dive in and retrieve them all. There must be about 52, so that will be tomorrow morning. So I think, ‘OK, well that’s sort of going to be like the morning wake up call,’” Rosamund shared to E! News.

David Oyelowo is joined by his co-star and producer Oprah Winfrey on the pink carpet at the 2015 Film Independent Spirit Awards held on Saturday afternoon (February 21) at the beach in Santa Monica, Calif.

The two stars were there to support their movie Selma, which was nominated for five awards including Best Picture and Best Male Lead for David.

Also in attendance were Best Supporting Female nominee Carmen Ejogo, Best Director nominee Ava DuVernay, and tomorrow’s Oscar nominee Common.

The 61-year-old television personality was joined at the event by her Selma co-stars David Oyelowo, Tessa Thompson, Common, Carmen Ejogo, and Niecy Nash.
