David Oyelowo is joined by his co-star and producer Oprah Winfrey on the pink carpet at the 2015 Film Independent Spirit Awards held on Saturday afternoon (February 21) at the beach in Santa Monica, Calif.

The two stars were there to support their movie Selma, which was nominated for five awards including Best Picture and Best Male Lead for David.

Also in attendance were Best Supporting Female nominee Carmen Ejogo, Best Director nominee Ava DuVernay, and tomorrow’s Oscar nominee Common.

The night before, Common hosted a pre-Oscar celebration for the film sponsored by CÎROC at Ysabel in West Hollywood.

FYI: Carmen is wearing a Roksanda jumpsuit, Casadei shoes, and a Rodo clutch. Common is wearing Lanvin.

Opening the show at the 2015 Grammy Awards will be John Legend and Common singing their Oscar-nominated song “Glory,” so we thought we’d give you a chance to let you listen to the track beforehand!

The song was written for the movie Selma and the guys will be joined on stage by Beyonce for the special performance.

So far, “Glory” has picked up awards at the Golden Globes, the Critics’ Choice Movie Awards, and more. It so far is the clear favorite to win the Oscar as well!

David Oyelowo is joined by his wife Jessica on the red carpet at the premiere of his latest movie Selma on Tuesday (January 27) at the Curzon Mayfair in London, England.

The 38-year-old British actor was also joined by his director Ava DuVernay, co-star Colman Domingo, and music stars Nicole Scherzinger and Ella Eyre.

David recently chatted with The Telegraph about how he is satisfied with the movie’s success thus far, despite being snubbed in many major Oscar categories.

“My initial reaction [to the Oscar nominations] was that it’s great that we got a Best Picture,” he said. “We couldn’t have done anymore. [Selma] is the best reviewed film of the year. We’re making tens of millions at the box office, and I get to play Dr King. I think we did our best.”

David Oyelowo hits the carpet while attending the 2015 National Board of Review Awards Gala held at Cipriani 42nd Street on Tuesday (January 6) in New York City.

The 38-year-old English actor was in attendance to support his movie Selma, which won the NBR Freedom of Expression Award.

Also attending the event were David‘s Selma co-star Common and director Ava DuVernay, as well as Top Five‘s Chris Rock.

David recently opened up about his need to star in the critically acclaimed film.

“When I first read the script in 2007, I wouldn’t cast me as Dr. King, between being English and at that point I’ve done very few American movies, but I felt a call of God to do this thing,” he said.
