Catt Sadler is responding to claims being made that she and Jason Kennedy had different workloads, and thus, she was expected to take less money.

“My experience, frustration and disparity was based on Jason Kennedy and myself being apples to apples. We came to the network at the same time and did similar jobs. For people to use the argument that Giuliana somehow made more money than Jason, that comparison doesn’t work. They’re apples and oranges. She joined before him, she was managing editor, she had multiple shows on the network. It’s unfortunate that people who don’t work there are trying to be the voice for the network. The only story I can tell is my truth and the truth speaks for itself,” Catt told THR.

If you don’t know, Catt left the network after she discovered Jason made more money and they wouldn’t give her equal pay.

An executive at E! is opening up about the disparity in Catt Sadler and Jason Kennedy‘s salaries.

Frances Berwick, the president of NBCUniversal Cable’s Lifestyle Networks, spoke to reporters at the network’s panel at the 2018 Winter TCA Press Tour on Tuesday (January 9).

“There is a lot of misinformation out there,” she said (via TheWrap). “Catt Sadler and Jason Kennedy had different roles and therefore different salaries.”

“Catt was focused on daytime, Jason Kennedy is on prime evening news and the red carpet,” she added. “Our employees’ salaries are based on their roles and their expertise, regardless of gender. So we wish Catt well, but I hope that sets the record straight.”

Catt left the network in December after she discovered a “massive disparity in pay” between her and Jason. At the Golden Globes, several celebrities called out E! for not paying Catt equally to her male co-star.

If you don’t know, Catt left the network last month after she was refused equal pay with her co-host.

Stars including Debra Messing, Eva Longoria, and more called out E! on the red carpet at the event.

“I am immensely grateful for the outpouring of support today. Thank you to Amy, Debra, Eva, Brie, Julianne and so many more women using their voices on behalf of us all,” Catt told Page Six.

Catt Sadler and Jason Kennedy‘s E! News salaries have been released after she left her job this week due to a “massive disparity in pay” compared to her male co-anchor.

Catt, 43, has been working at the network for nearly a decade and has taken on more responsibility over the past few years.

“Catt‘s salary was at about $600,000 per year,” a source told Us Weekly. “Jason is around $1 million a year, maybe $1.2 million at most. He was making more, but this has nothing to do with a male vs. female thing. It has nothing to do with gender, but rather seniority and Jason‘s ranking at the company.”

Jason‘s wife Lauren Scruggs has spoken out to defend her husband on Instagram, while Catt has shared that she doesn’t blame Jason for the pay disparity, calling him one of her best friends.

Jennifer Lawrence and more stars are speaking out to voice their support for television personality Catt Sadler, who left her job at E! News this week due to a “massive disparity in pay” with her male co-star Jason Kennedy.

Catt discovered that Jason was earning nearly double her salary despite her spending nearly a decade at the network and taking on more responsibility in recent years.

In a new statement, Catt says that she doesn’t blame Jason for the disparity in their pay and she called him one of her best friends.

“Thank you Catt for sharing your story,” Jennifer wrote on Facebook. She has previously advocated for equal pay after her salary for American Hustle was made public during the Sony hack.

Longtime E! News co-host Catt Sadler left the show this week due to a “massive disparity in pay” to her male co-star Jason Kennedy, but she says she doesn’t blame him.

“Jason Kennedy is one of my best friends in the whole wide world. He is like a brother to me. And in no way do I want this to reflect poorly on him. This is not his fault,” the TV personality told People.

Catt also shared how Jason reacted to her departure from the show.

“He’s devastated, I think, and I think he believes that this is a great loss for the network. He does not want to see me go,” Catt said. “Jason is a class act. … But it’s important that people don’t vilify him because he isn’t the problem – the system’s the problem, the structure’s the problem. And I really do mean that. Because that’s been a hard part of this whole thing because I love him dearly. And to be honest, he has been such a champion for me in every sense. But it’s not his decision.”

On Tuesday, Jason tweeted, “I hate goodbyes but I’ll save it for the show tonight, love you so much pal, really going to miss you @IAmCattSadler.”

Catt Sadler is opening up in a new statement to explain why she decided to leave her gig as the co-host of E! News.

The TV personality says she left the show over a “massive disparity in pay between my similarly situated male co-host” Jason Kennedy and herself.

“An executive from E brought something alarming to my attention – namely, that there was a massive disparity in pay between my similarly situated male co-host and myself. More recently, when E reached out to renew and extend my deal, I learned that he wasn’t just making a little more than I was. In fact, he was making close to double my salary for the past several years,” Catt said in a statement on her website.

“Information is power. Or it should be. We are living in a new era. The gender pay gap is shrinking, although admittedly we have a long way to go. And well, I learned this first hand. My team and I asked for what I know I deserve and were denied repeatedly,” she added.

“Know your worth. I have two decades experience in broadcasting and started at the network the very same year as my close friend and colleague that I adore. I so lovingly refer to him as my ‘tv husband’ and I mean it,” Catt said. “But how can I operate with integrity and stay on at E if they’re not willing to pay me the same as him? Or at least come close? How can I accept an offer that shows they do not value my contributions and paralleled dedication all these years? How can I not echo the actions of my heroes and stand for what is right no matter what the cost? How can I remain silent when my rights under the law have been violated?”
