The 29-year-old former American Idol finalist is currently back on Broadway reprising the role of Sir Robin in the Tony Award-winning Best Musical, Monty Python’s Spamalot through January 4, 2009.
Parrish joined the cast of Spring Awakening this past August, taking the lead role of Melchior Gabor and winning rave reviews from critics.
Clay Aiken finishes up his work day, performing on the Broadway show Spamalot, and then tries to avoid the press as he goes home on Wednesday.
American Idol‘s Simon Cowell, who when told Clay Aiken had revealed he was gay, jokingly responded, “Wow, that’s a shock. It’s like being told Santa Clause isn’t real — unbelievable.”
“Good for him. If he said it, it’s the right thing for him. Good for him,” Simon told Extra.
When asked about fan reaction, Simon said, “I don’t think anyone cares. Let’s face it. It’s 2008. You know, who cares?”
“No, I don’t know him well enough, and I think I’d be the last person on Earth he’d call,” Simon said, referring to rumors he was asked to be the godfather of Clay‘s son, Parker.
American Idol star Clay Aiken is officially a father!
Clay, 29, and music producer friend Jaymes Foster, welcomed a baby boy in his home-state of North Carolina Friday morning, Aiken‘s mother Faye told local TV station WRAL.
Faye reported the boy’s name is Parker Foster Aiken, and was born at 8:08 a.m. weighing 6 pounds, 2 ounces. He was 19 inches long.
Back in May, it was first reported that Jaymes Foster was artificially inseminated with Clay‘s sperm and his rep later confirmed that. Clay and Jaymes will reportedly raise the child together even though they are not romantically linked.

Clay Aiken is already having a son but he’s not stopping there!
The 29-year-old singer and his best friend, 50-year-old music producer Jaymes Foster, used advanced IVF therapy to conceive their first child but an In Touch insider reports that they’ve already frozen eggs and sperm so they can have a second baby next year.
“Jaymes is due in August, so she’d like to conceive again next March,” an insider says. “That way, she would give birth in December 2009… Clay and Jaymes are committed to having at least two children. They’re both incredibly successful and wealthy, so money is certainly no object. And he just adores children. He is going to make a wonderful and caring father. There’s no doubt about that.”

Last week, it was reported that the Clay will be a father! He has given his sperm by artificial insemination to Jaymes Foster, sister of David Foster and Clay‘s producer.

Clay Aiken impregnated someone and is expected to soon be a baby daddy!
Jaymes Foster, Clay‘s producer and best friend, was artificial inseminated with the 29-year-old singer’s sperm, according to TMZ. Clay will reportedly have an active role in raising the child.
Foster, 50, produced several of Clay‘s CDs and is the sister of record mogul David Foster. A rep for Foster says, “By the way she looks great, glowing and very happy. She and Clay have been good friends for a long time.”
Clay will be on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno tonight (Thursday). But it’s a re-run! BLAH!

Clay looked summery in his linen blazer and leather sandals as he went to have lunch with friends at Louise’s.
His latest album, On My Way Here debuted this week at #4 with 94,071 units sold this week. Clay‘s previous album, A Thousand Different Ways, started at No. 2 in 2006, with the much larger sales of 211,000.
Clay has said On My Way Here represents the last five years of his life, but that he didn’t write any of the material. He said he’s “not great” at songwriting and that he’d rather “let the people who are experts in that field do what they do, and I’ll do what I do.”
