One character’s death has been sending shockwaves through a popular TV show’s fandom this month. However, there have been (fictional) losses in some other television shows that have proven to be even more shocking.

A character can be killed off from a TV series for multiple reasons. Some send-offs are more heartbreakingly unexpected than others. And sometimes, the shows are never the same afterward.

Nikolaj Coster-Waldau hasn’t watched the Game of Thrones prequel series House of the Dragon yet, and he likely won’t for a while.

If you forgot, the 52-year-old star brought Jamie Lannister to life in the original series, which he starred in from start to finish.

He recently opened up about his conflicted feelings for the revival in an interview, revealing when he’d feel comfortable to watch House of the Dragon. He also explained why he felt “strange” after seeing a snippet of the new show.

According to a new report from Deadline, the outlet suggests that the upcoming season could only be 8 episodes instead of the presumed 10 episodes that the first season had.

Emilia Clarke was one of the very first stars in the Game of Thrones universe. However, she hasn’t been able to get herself to watch the new spinoff series House of the Dragon.

The 36-year-old Secret Invasion actress played the fiery Daenerys Targaryen in the fantasy series, which you would think would make her ever more excited for House of the Dragon. After all, it’s about her ancestors in the House of Targaryen.

However, she explained that it is just “so weird” for her to even try to watch the show during a recent interview, and her reasoning makes a lot of sense.

George R.R. Martin is getting candid about the fate of the Game of Thrones franchises.

The 74-year-old A Song of Ice and Fire author provided a big update on the status of future Game of Thrones projects amid the current restructuring happening at HBO Max, which has resulted in a lot of programming shakeups recently.

“All the changes at HBO Max have impacted us, certainly,” he said in a blog update.
