Jackson Odell‘s cause of death has reportedly been revealed.

The actor and songwriter, who was known for his work as Ari Caldwell on ABC’s The Goldbergs, reportedly passed away from a cocaine and heroin overdose, the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner has reported (via The Blast).

The coroner’s report stated that Jackson had “acute heroin and cocaine toxicity” and the cause of death was an accident.

Jackson passed away in June at a sober living facility in Tarzana, Calif. He was just a month shy of his 21st birthday.

His family later released a statement on his tragic death.

Jackson Odell‘s family has released a statement after his tragic death on Friday (June 8) at the young age of 20.

The 20-year-old was found unresponsive in a sober living home.

The family statement said, “The Odell family has lost our beloved son and brother, Jackson Odell, on Friday. He will always be a shining light and a brilliant, loving and talented soul. He had so much more to share. Our family will always carry that truth forward. Our wish is that the rest of the world who knew and loved him does as well. We are now going to try to make sense of our immeasurable loss privately. We will not be making anymore statements.”

Jackson was known for his work on The Goldbergs in the role of Ari Caldwell. He also had roles on Private Practice, Modern Family, iCarly and Arrested Development over the years.

In addition to his acting work, Jackson was also a songwriter and wrote several songs for the Forever My Girl movie soundtrack.
