Brandon Victor Dixon, Sara Bareilles and John Legend hit the red carpet together while attending the For Your Consideration Event for NBC’s Jesus Christ Superstar Live in Concert held at the Egyptian Theatre on Monday (May 21) in Hollywood, Calif.

The stars were joined at the event by composer Andrew Lloyd Weber, producers Craig Zadan and Neil Meron, as well as Derek Hough, who moderated the Q&A panel.

“There had to be a certain amount of vision that we didn’t see in that rehearsal,” John recently expressed (via Variety). “Once it all came together it made sense. For all those people to come together with a vision and make it happen I thought was really beautiful.”

“The air felt like champagne,” Sara added. “Walking into the (armory) that morning, everyone was so proud of the work that went into it. It was so buoyant. I kept feeling how much joy there was being poured into this.”

Former Fox News anchor Bill O’Reilly was not a fan of Jesus Christ Superstar Live and fans are loving what Chrissy Teigen said in response to his tweet criticizing the show.

The production featured some modern elements, like the sets, the costumes, and the makeup, including tattoos on several characters.

“Watching JC Superstar on NBC. Who knew Jesus of Nazareth ran a tattoo parlor? Geez,” O’Reilly tweeted on Sunday night.

Chrissy responded to it and said, “Yes the shop specializes in coverups that aren’t 32 million dollars.” She is referring to the $32 million settlement that a Fox News legal analyst reportedly received after she made a sexual harassment claim against O’Reilly.

John Legend shows off his toned physique while going shirtless for a scene in Jesus Christ Superstar Live on Sunday night (April 1) in Brooklyn, N.Y.

The 39-year-old singer went shirtless during the “Trial Before Pilate” scene in which Jesus is whipped 39 times and then taken to the cross.

John did a juice fast starting last Tuesday to prepare for his shirtless scene.

“John’s eating really healthy right now for Jesus Christ Superstar,” his wife Chrissy Teigen told People last week. “He has a shirtless scene he’s pretty excited about, but he’s actually starting to fast, like juice fast, starting today.”

One of the most memorable moments from Jesus Christ Superstar Live came from the final moments of the show, when Brandon Victor Dixon performed the show’s title song “Superstar” in a sparkly tank top!

The 36-year-old actor, who has been on Broadway for over a decade, wowed the world with his performance and he had people on Twitter raving over his work.

The rocker played the role of King Herod and sang the appropriately named “King Herod’s Song” during the musical on Sunday night (April 1) at the Marcy Avenue Armory in Brooklyn, N.Y.

Alice joined an all-star cast that included John Legend and Sara Bareilles in the live production of the classic musical.
