Sam Smith carries one small bag while arriving at LAX Airport on Friday afternoon (February 13) in Los Angeles.

The 22-year-old British singer was on his way to catch a flight out of town — and according to his Twitter he’s heading to Japan!

The day before, Sam ran some errands in Beverly Hills before meeting up with one of his friends.

Recently, Sam opened up about the mistakes he made that led up to his breakup with Jonathan Zeizel.

“I made a mistake by posting pictures of us on Instagram and making it seem more serious than it was,” he told ES Magazine (quote via: Daily Mail). “I’ve learned that I need to hold off before I start getting the public involved.”

Sam continued, saying: “I would say it was a relationship, but I still feel like I haven’t had a proper boyfriend yet.”

The 22-year-old crooner sparked breakup rumors at his concert the evening before when he introduced his song “Good Thing”

“When I fell in love with the person who inspired the majority of this record, I had this fight in me to basically end it when I could’ve carried on,” Sam said. “But I decided to write this song, and, the day before I wrote this song, I basically went on my phone, and I deleted their number and I deleted everything. The reason why this song is very special for me today is that I’ve actually had to do a very similar thing today with someone I’ve been seeing.”

In fact, the 22-year-old singer’s boyfriend Jonathan Zeizel caught him belting out “Drunk in Love” in the shower and shared it on Instagram!

“sam or bey? @samsmithworld @therickilee” he captioned the video clip.

The 22-year-old singer is down under with his beau and a group of friends and they have been sharing a ton of photos, including some pics from Sea World with a sea lion!

The new couple spent New Year’s Eve together in Sydney, Australia and it looks like they are having a blast with their friends on the trip.

In another photo, Sam recreated the iconic “I’m flying, Jack” moment from Titanic with one of his other pals.

Jonathan, who is a model that was featured in the singer’s “Like I Can” music video, accompanied Sam to Taylor Swift‘s birthday party last month and posted a photo from the event on his Instagram account.

Sam confirmed that he was dating one of the video extras recently and that their relationship was in an early stage.

Sam Smith has confirmed that he is off the market and is dating one of the extras in his new “Like I Can” music video.

“It’s very early days. I’m talking very, very, very early days. But he’s really sweet… he was one of 20 extras,” Sam told The Sun. “It’s a surreal thing to be talking about because I haven’t even confirmed with him that we’re officially seeing each other.”

While Sam might be happy right now, he doesn’t expect any relationship of his to last and insists he will never be happy.

“People need to realize I’m never going to be happy. The reason I do what I do is because I’m an artist who is always going to be blue about something,” Sam said.
