The 46-year-old actor was joined at the event by Mario Lopez and his pregnant wife Courtney Mazza, Victoria Justice, Josh Henderson and his girlfriend Oana Gregory, Candice King, Marcia Gay Harden, Ryan Rottman, Reeve Carney, Gilles Marini and his wife Carole, and Loni Love.

Elton is on the road touring in the U.S until March before he heads out internationally in May.

The 35-year-old Oscar-winning actress and her Black Panther co-stars Chadwick Boseman and Danai Gurira were on hand at the gala to present a new scholarship — The Black Panther Scholarship — created by Walt Disney Studios, which gave one girl from THR‘s Women in Entertainment Mentorship Program a scholarship to Loyola Marymount University, worth $250,000.

The program, now in its ninth year, is executed in partnership with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Los Angeles. “We know that if we want to live in a world that looks more like Wakanda, the first step is you invest in women and girls,” Danai said (via THR), who received a loud round of applause from the audience.

Also in attendance at the gala was Awkwafina, Lena Dunham, Ali Wong, Hannah Gadsby and Loni Love.
