Melissa Benoist and Chris Wood share a happy look with each other at the Supergirl 100th Episode Celebration held at Fairmont Pacific Rim Hotel on Saturday night (December 14) in Vancouver, Canada.

The cute couple were joined by their Supergirl co-stars Chyler Leigh, David Harewood, Katie McGrath, Jesse Rath, Nicole Maines, Julie Gonzalo, Andrea Brooks, Staz Nair, Elizabeth Tulloch, and Azie Tesfai.

Also in attendance were Executive Producer Greg Berlanti, President of Warner Bros Television Peter Roth, and CW Network President Mark Pedowitz.

Supergirl‘s 100th episode will be season five’s upcoming 13th episode, which is set to air in February 2020.

The 31-year-old Supergirl star showed his support for his 31-year-old co-star and wife in a message for Thanksgiving (November 28).

“Happy Thanksgiving! I’m going to kiss my wife and hold her tenderly. All day. And every day. How do YOU show love? #IStandWithMelissa,” he tweeted, using the hashtag many fans and stars trended to voice their support.

Melissa Benoist bravely shared her own experience with domestic violence with the world and now Hollywood is rallying around her with tons of support.

The 31-year-old Supergirl and former Glee actress revealed in a 14-minute Instagram video that a younger partner both emotionally and physically abused her throughout their relationship.

Melissa‘s Supergirl co-stars Chyler Leigh, David Harewood, and Jeremy Jordan are just some of the many celebs who have spoken out with messages of support. Famous friends of hers have already shared messages as well.

Other stars like Dove Cameron, The Good Place‘s Jameela Jamil, and more have also written tweets in support of Melissa and her bravery.

Melissa Benoist‘s friends are sending their love and support to her after she revealed her shocking domestic violence survival story.

The 31-year-old Supergirl star revealed in an emotional video on Wednesday (November 27) that she is a survivor of domestic violence, and detailed the abuse she experienced in a past relationship.

Though she didn’t name her abuser, Melissa did reveal he was a partner of her’s for quite some time and that he was younger than her.

“He was a magnanimous person, who didn’t really give you a choice not to be drawn to him. He could be charming, funny, manipulative, devious,” Melissa said before describing how he would make her change her clothes when they went out, would “snoop” on her devices, and would make her turn down roles that had “flirtatious” scenes.

After her video went viral, Melissa‘s famous friends and Supergirl co-stars took to Twitter to voice their support for her.

Melissa‘s Supergirl co-star Jeremy Jordan commented on her video, writing, “I love you, friend. I can’t wait to teach my daughter to be brave like auntie Melissa.”

Fellow Supergirl co-star Chyler Leigh also commented, “I love you with all my heart Mel You’ve got my love, support, and utmost respect.”

Melissa Benoist has released an emotional video in which she reveals she is a domestic violence survivor and she suffered months of domestic abuse at the hands of a younger partner.

The 31-year-old Supergirl and Glee actress posted a 14-minute video in which she read a statement that she prepared.

“I am a survivor of domestic violence or IPV (intimate partner violence), which is something I never in my life expected I would say, let alone be broadcasting into the ether,” Melissa said.

Melissa never named her abuser in the video, but she did describe him: “He was a magnanimous person, who didn’t really give you a choice not to be drawn to him. He could be charming, funny, manipulative, devious. He was younger than me, his maturity obvious. For a period of time, I wasn’t interested. I was newly single, gaining my bearing in a change in my life.”

Melissa is currently married to her Supergirl co-star Chris Wood, 31. Before that, she was married to Glee co-star Blake Jenner, 27, for a year.

The abuse wasn’t violent at first and it started as emotional manipulation. She said, “Work in general was a touchy subject. He didn’t want me ever kissing or even having flirtatious scenes with men, which was very hard for me to avoid, so I began turning down auditions, job offers, test deals and friendships, because I didn’t want to hurt him.”

Melissa says that the violence began five months into their relationship and she detailed some of the abuse she suffered. The first instance involved a smoothie being thrown at her face.
