Michael J. Fox Life Will Be Focus Of New Documentary Set For Apple

Michael J. Fox will be the subject of a new documentary heading to Apple.

The documentary is already shooting in New York, Los Angeles and Vancouver, and will incorporate documentary, archival and scripted elements, according to a release.

The project, which is still yet to be titled, will recount “the improbable tale of an undersized kid from a Canadian army base who rose to the heights of stardom in 1980s Hollywood.”

“The account of Fox’s public life, full of nostalgic thrills and cinematic gloss, will unspool alongside his never-before-seen private journey, including the years that followed his diagnosis, at 29, with Parkinson’s disease. Intimate and honest, and produced with unprecedented access to Fox and his family, the film will chronicle Fox’s personal and professional triumphs and travails, and will explore what happens when an incurable optimist confronts an incurable disease.”

An Inconvenient Truth and He Named Me Malala filmmaker Davis Guggenheim is set to direct.

Just recently, Michael opened up about what led to him revealing his Parkinson’s diagnosis.

Michael J. Fox Reveals He's Struggling to Memorize Lines for Acting

Michael J. Fox is getting candid about his condition.

The 59-year-old Family Ties actor, who was first diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease in 1998, revealed 22 years later that the disease has taken a toll on his memory.

“My short-term memory is shot,” he told People.

“I always had a real proficiency for lines and memorization. And I had some extreme situations where the last couple of jobs I did were actually really word-heavy parts. I struggled during both of them,” he admitted.

While memorizing is becoming difficult, he is dedicating his time to writing. His fourth memoir, No Time Like the Future, arrives on November 17.

“I’m down to this. My guitar playing is no good. My sketching is no good anymore, my dancing never was good, and acting is getting tougher to do. So it’s down to writing. Luckily, I really enjoy it,” he explained.

At the beginning of the year, he had a very special Back to the Future reunion.
