Michael Phelps and his wife Nicole are expecting their second child!

The 32-year-old swimmer announced the news on social media!

“Number 2 on the way!!!! So excited!! Wonder if it’s a boy or a girl??,” Michael captioned a photo of his wife and their son Boomer, who turned 1 in May.

Nicole also confirmed the news on her Instagram account, writing, “Lil mans going to be a Big Brother!!!”

Michael and Nicole were married last year in a private ceremony and shared some photos from the event.

Congrats to the happy couple on the wonderful news!

The 32-year-old Olympic gold medalist woke up bright and early to join his wife Nicole their son Boomer, 14 months, at a special Huggies Little Swimmers Swim Class with The Phelps Foundation on Monday (August 21) in New York City.

“Some of the best memories of my life have been in the water – and none more special than the days I spend swimming with Boomer,” Michael said in statement. “I’m not teaching Boomer to master the butterfly just yet, but #Trainingfor2032 includes safe water play that helps build comfort and confidence in the water. I’m partnering with Huggies Little Swimmers because I want to all babies to be the best swimmers they can be.”

Michael Phelps did a Facebook Live Q&A last night and had many people asking about his controversial special, Phelps vs Shark: Great Gold vs Great White.

Fans were disappointed with the special, because the Olympic great did not end up actually racing a shark, but a CGI shark was created using scientific date taken from actual sharks. Michael lost to the CGI Great White by 2 seconds.

“Everybody wants to pick on something or say something or complain about something, so I had fun racing a shark. And seeing those animals up close and personal. If somebody actually wants to get in the water and race side-by-side with a great white, go ahead. You’re not going to get the shark to swim in a straight line. And, uh, yeah, it would be interesting to see. We’ll leave it at that,” Michael said in defense of the show.

“You can believe whatever you want. Everything was either present on air during multiple interviews that I did throughout Shark Week or the beginning of the show. Sorry you feel that way. For me, it was something I always wanted to do. I was honored to be able to do it. So, I’m sorry that you feel that way. I feel very different,” he added about people saying the advertising was misleading.

Michael Phelps‘ Shark Week special, Phelps vs Shark: Great Gold vs Great White, aired last night and fans felt a little misled after the shark was actually computer generated.

Ahead of the race, scientists recorded speeds of Great White Sharks and Hammerhead Sharks.

Michael ended up losing to the Great White by 2 seconds, but beat the reef shark in the race.

After the race, Michael took to Twitter and wrote, “Rematch? Next time..warmer water. #SW30 @Discovery @SharkWeek.”

After weeks of anticipation, Michael Phelps faced off with a Great White Shark in Phelps vs. Shark: Great Gold vs. Great White!

In the special that aired during Shark Week on the Discovery Channel on Sunday (July 23), the 32-year-old Olympic gold-medalist tested his racing ability against a number of different shark breeds.

However, all of the sharks were virtual version and Michael did not actually swim side-by-side with any sharks, but raced CGI version of sharks based on their swim rates in separate races.

In the first 50-meter race against the reef shark, Michael won with a time 18.7 seconds. When his time was compared to the hammerhead shark, Michael was defeated as the shark finished the race in 15.1 seconds.

For the main event against the Great White Shark, Michael was defeated once again by only two seconds.

Michael Phelps shares a big laugh with host Jimmy Fallon while making an appearance on The Tonight Show on Thursday (July 20) in New York City.

The 32-year-old Olympian geeked out over his love of sharks and reveals just how close he was willing to get to his favorite animals to race it for Shark Week’s Phelps Vs Shark: Great Gold Vs Great White.

The following day, Michael stopped by Good Morning America to dish all about the “intense” race for the Shark Week special.

“When we were in the cage, as soon as I first got in, I felt both sides of the cage kind of moving back and forth, and I was like ‘Oh my gosh, we’re really getting bit, the cage is shaking,’” Michael said. “They didn’t look that big underwater. I guess now seeing the video, they were pretty massive sharks. I had one, like I was saying, literally come right up to my nose, and it was crazy.”

Michael Phelps gives his wife Nicole a cute kiss on the red carpet at the 2017 Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Sports Awards on Thursday (July 13) at the Pauley Pavilion in Los Angeles.

The 32-year-old Olympian is being honored at the event with the Legend Award!

Also in attendance at the event were former basketball player Lamar Odom and Olympic skier Lindsey Vonn.

Michael was honored at the ESPSYs the night before for the Best Record-Breaking Performance award. “Today is my wife’s birthday and we met here 10 years ago and it’s the most amazing thing in the world. Thank you,” he said during his speech.

FYI: Lindsey is wearing Schutz heels.
